Guthrie is willing to listen to the issues

August 26, 2009

According to your paper, some congressmen are afraid to meet with the public because of the anger over health care and other government programs that many believe to be a socialist takeover of our economy.

I am glad that my congressman, Brett Guthrie, is willing to meet with the public and discuss the issues. I believe Congressman Guthrie being willing to discuss this with all sides is one reason he has been able to have good, civil discussions.

It is a shame that Congressmen John Yarmuth and Ben Chandler of Kentucky believe it is necessary to limit their contact with the public.

Do you think the public anger may be caused by many who believe government is simply not listening?
